This soundboard wood is a new one for me to offer. I have made several psalteries using it, but this is the first I have offered on my website. The base color of the wood is really close to the color of the hard maple. The red/pink streak are caused by the boxelder beetle. It is a stunning wood and I'm glad I was able to find some in the quality I need for my psalteries.
This psaltery has a pickup installed. Great for plugging into an amplifier for volume, but also to take advantage of those great sounding effects. Chorus effect sounds epecially nice when used with the bowed psaltery.
$50 more for the tripod holder attachment and a second matching bow.

Two new alto psalteries added today. Pictures and descriptions are ready. Soundclips coming next.
I have had folks asking for a psaltery with more range of notes than the little soprano psaltery I have made for many years. I finally have designed one with great results. It has that same range of notes as my Tenor psalteries. It is just tuned an octave higher in pitch. The range is G4 (G above middle C) to C7. That is a few notes higher and lower than my small soprano. Thirty strings and the layout has the notes in the same locations as my tenor psaltery. It is a very easy transition between the two. The low end range of this psaltery puts it in the alto range.
The physical size is a little smaller than my tenor psalteries, so this alto will work great for double bowing. It fits my adjustable tripod holder very nicely. That's something the little soprano just doesn't do very well.
